The write-up about our trip through the Tichka Pass is on the previous post. The photos really can’t do it justice because the vistas are so huge and especially because I took most of the photos out the window of a moving car.
The kids fell asleep within the first half-hour after we left Marrakech:
I’m pretty sure this sign says something about stupid tourists falling over the side:
I would NOT want to be the snowplow driver!
Straight below the left-hand power pole is a shepherd sitting on the side of the mountain (you can click on the photo to enlarge it). The photo doesn’t show you that the mountain continues down below the edge of the road so he is EXTREMELY high. We saw a lot of locals sitting just gazing at the beautiful scenery. Or maybe they were waiting to see someone go over the side.
It’s the same road on the far upper right, the left, and the middle of the photo:
Finally! A picture of me!!
We saw a lot of erosion, and some homes balanced on the sides of mountains.
Aliya decided this was the safest way to travel:
This is a close-up of the prickly pear cactus. The fruit is on the top.

Hello Lori, looks like you and you rkids re doing well there, (keep out of the heat) as for the sleeping kids, they look soo cute and peaceful. they are missing alot of scenery whiel asleep though.
as for the snowplow and tree, PERFECT one for thereifixedit or failblog site.
as for the sign, looks like they are describing the road surface ( loose dirt/gravel) and cautioning about loss of control.
about the cactus, interesting you mention about this, (pear cactus) my dad came home with some last week during our extreme excessive heat wave we had and put it in a flower pot.
stay safe,

Prickly pear is delicious – both the fruit (if ripe) and the leaves.
The vistas are amazing!!
I had prickly pear today and I’m not a big fan of the seeds. I’ll stick with my favorite melon – sweehla.
the sign says: Attention! hazardous slippery can be caused because of the snow. the sceneries are magnificient. Cheers:))
